Episode 48: I feel fine. fine.

Hey Talkers,

Most importantly, Will & Grace has been picked up for a 10 episode revival. Also Donald Trump was sworn in as president of the United States of America and the end is nigh. Sad.

Sarah weighs in on a U.S. News & World Report panel ranking the Whole30 as the worst diet out of a list of 38 diet plan. This is of course, completely insane. The Whole30, while not for everyone, is still a diet that recommends real, whole foods, and advocates that participants learn how to read food labels. A skill they will take with them long after the 30 days is over. But whatever U.S. News & World Report panel, tell people to chug Slimfast, the 2nd ingredient of which is Sugar, followed by Rancid Canola Oil, Fructose, Calcium Caseinate, Gum Arabic, Cellulose Gel, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Mono and Diglycerides…. Bottoms up.

Next, we talk about how hard working American, Randall Prince, found proof that Hillary Clinton stole the election by stuffing ballot boxes with ballots pre-checked with her name. If fucking only, Randy.

Of course, this never happened, Randall Prince is a fake person, and Hillary Clinton lost the election. This was just a big bullshit story that some guy wrote on the internet and made thousands of dollars off of. So now President Trump is in office, and fake news and alternative facts are just a reality of modern journalism. *Chugs Wine* Congratulations America.

Episode 33: Females and Emails

ep33-graphic

Dear Talkers,

We hope this blog post finds you well. This week, we discuss the etiquette of emails. With a lot of buzz circling the net about ladies censoring their inner office communications to spare the delicate sensibilities of their male counterparts, Sarah poses that the true atrocities of the email world are taking place in girl on girl communication realm.

Then we get extra cranky about an article making the rounds offering men helpful hints on how to successfully hit on women while they are wearing headphones. (Don’t do this.)

Kind Regards,
Why Are You Talking Podcast

Episode 29- DadRob

That time when Rob, and his super close personal friend, Malia Obama, went to lollapalooza because it was way more chill than the DNC.

Also this week, Rob explains the internet to Jess and Sarah, and we issue a PSA in light of instagrams new Snapchatty functionality (less the warnings when your stories get screen captured!)

Sarah wants to talk about MTV’s 35th birthday, and the nostalgia overload happening in the media as a result. Rob remembers 90’s hair metal, who knew that was a thing. Sarah remembers completely appropriating 90’s culture in an attempt to seem older.

Jess gets into the Unicode Consortium, which is either a spell in the New Harry Potter spinoff or the deciding body that governs emoji use.

First up, Netflix and no chill. Rob wants to know if watching netflix without your SO is really that big of a transgression. We have opposing views. Sarah is a more open-minded free netflix watching type, while Jess is more of a tell no evil type that netflix cheats, but just doesn’t talk about it. The Marketer has come out with commitment rings that force you to both be in the room and wearing your rings for the app to work.

Next we talk about the emojification of The Bible. A group has released an emoji version of the bible to appeal to millennials. It manages to be offensive to both millennials and religion.

{{you’re an idiot emoji}} {{why would you do this emoji}} {whose dumb idea was this anyway emoji}}

Lastly, Jess just can’t be happify. We talk about different wellness apps and how bad we are at meditating. Sarah scares the shit out of people at work by trying one of these apps in her office.

Episode 1: New Year’s Resolutions Are Dumb, Amiright?

Episode 1

Our maiden podcast voyage! This is the first full episode of the Why Are You Talking Podcast, and we couldn’t be more excited to get started.

In keeping with the season our first topic is New Year’s resolutions. Are they healthy? Realistic? Or are they setting you up for failure? (0:41)

Next we dig in the the idea of “The Hustle.” Is it the only lifestyle choice for successful entrepreneurs or a one-way ticket to a health crisis? Where is the line between hustling and being an asshole? (9:31)

Our last topic this week is about blogs. Once touted as the future of journalism, are these online-only news outlets being replaced by the less immediately gratifying, but more thorough podcast? Are people really sick of getting bad information, or is audio just easier to listen to in the car? (15:41)
